Wives' Nest (2000)

Franziska Zis has made it. Her debut novel is a huge success. Alexander Karl, programme director at Sender TV, even he wants her as a talk show host. And suddenly, long-term boyfriend and father of her youngest daughter, Enno, is determined to marry her... for pragmatic reasons only as it soon emerges. Too much for Franziska: she escapes to the mountains with her three children. By chance she runs into Alexander here; he has followed his wife to the same hotel in an attempt to patch up their marriage. Franziska can’t help from falling for the romantic man and spends a passionate night with him. When her car is stolen on the journey back, she is picked up by none other than her old school friend Marie. Marie also is at a turning point in her life: freshly separated from her husband she is ready to re-start her fashion business. Back home a further surprise is waiting: Enno has moved out. Fortunately his mother Alma has decided to remain with Franziska and the children. And thus it comes about that the three cheerful, energetic women establish a women’s household based on the motto “one for all and all for one”. However, soon their slogan is put to a severe test.
