The new film version of “Winnetou” with Pierre Brice in the leading role concentrates in particular on the special relationship of American Indians with the natural environment, which in this case is about to be destroyed systematically by an unscrupulous businessman. “Winnetous Returns” is a gripping mixture of fairy tale, love story and action film. It centres around a more mature Winnetou who wins not by virtue of his strength and youth; now it is his wisdom which makes him the victor. The myth of Winnetou has survived for decades, and this new film is intended to do justice to it. In addition to a large number of renowned German actors it features the American actress Candice Daly and several actors who achieved international fame working with Kevin Kostner on the multiple Oscar-winning cinematic sensation “Dances with Wolves”, including Buffalo Child (Tanka), Jonathan Joss (Wash Ti) and Jimmy Hermann (Tasha-Tunga).
