This is the story of little Natasha - based loosely on the authentic case of a young girl called Olivia - who is suffering from Wilm’s Tumor, a form of cancer which only strikes children. In 95% of cases, with the proper treatment, it can be cured - but for this purpose chemotherapy is required.
In this case the parents feel the hospital has not consulted them - and as a result they refuse to permit the chemotherapy. Instead they reach a fateful decision: they entrust their daughter’s life to a dubious natural healer called Glowalla, who manages to persuade them that chemotherapy will mean certain death and he is the only person who can save her life by using his alternative therapy. However, the hospital consultant, Professor Bauer, refuses to abandon his little patient. Thus begins a race against time with the police and the courts finally involved, leading (almost) to the death of Natasha.
