Nora Bernd is a popular "lifestyle consultant" on television: in her programme she gets people to talk about their problems, helps them find a way to resolve their crises and provides practical advice and suggestions. Nobody knows that although Nora can come up with answers to other people easily enough, her own life is a mess. Many years ago she walked out on her husband Heiner and her daughter Jenny. Jenny was only 13 at the time and has never forgiven her column to this day she refuses to have any contact with Nora, sending back all letters and parcels unopened. When Nora celebrates the 10th anniversary of her programme and the producer decides to bring her family along, the idyllic facade begins to crumble. Disappointed by her mother's dishonesty, Jenny confronts her on the live talk-show in front of millions of viewers. She calls on her mother to tell the truth at last.
