Agnes Berg is a celebrated author. On the day she receives her most prestigious award she lerans that her daughter Johanna and her husband died in a tragic accident. Simple misunderstandings and vanities were the reasons Agnes and her daughter had not spoken to each other for years. Agnes travels to Mallorca where her daughter resided and is confronted with a situation she is afraid she is not able to handle. How to build a relationship with her two grandchildren Natascha and Enrico who consider her a stranger? Nobody in the larger family circle of her daughter, neither the mother of Johanna’s husband nor the housekeeper nor the gardener is particularly happy to see her. Only her best friend Katharina and the lawyer and long-time family friend Richard Gutmann, encourage Agnes and give her the feeling that she is needed. Slowly but surely she wins the hearts of her grandchildren.
