To mark the occasion of the opening of the new American Embassy in Berlin, in July 2008, Ziegler Film in association with the renowned author and director Matthias Unterburg has produced a television documentary, commissioned by the German TV channel ARD, which reflects on German-American relations since the Second World War. Famous contemporary witnesses from both sides, including former US Ambassador John Kornblum, the previous German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer, Egon Bahr (SPD) and Horst Teltschik (CDU) provide their own personal reflections on epochs in the history of German-American co-operation and occasional antagonism, with critical analyses on the basis of their own personal experiences.
