In three 90-minute episodes director Friedemann Fromm tells the story of a group of young people in Berlin during the immediate post-war period who proceed to grow apart and then find their lives are again intertwined when the Berlin Wall is built in 1961 -- and once more, when it collapses in the year 1989.The films have been developed as a mixture between a family saga and historic document, including scenic and documentary elements against real, historical backgrounds.
