Retired building contractor Arno Adelmann is approaching his 77th birthday. The gnarled, grumpy old eccentric is a great deal more warm-hearted, amusing and quick-witted than might be apparent at first. Nancy, his redoubtable housekeeper, has suspected for a long time that his two daughters Thekla and Bianca, who regularly come to visit Arno with their husbands, are actually only protecting the inheritance they hope to receive from the elderly gentleman. And then one day Arno’s life is transformed at a stroke when he meets his new neighbour: the divorced Ina and her 10-year-old daughter Caro have inherited the ramshackled but extremely romantic Rosegarden Villa adjacent to his property. The old goat quickly takes a liking to them both, and as a result they move into his house while their villa is being renovated. And that’s not all: he also takes it upon himself, as an expert in the field, to supervise the building work next door himself.
“Mutiny of the Heiresses” sees the two daughters rapidly taking action to protect their inheritances, forging a cunning plan which demonstrates that they will stop at nothing in order to achieve their goal.
