Chief Inspector Beckmann finds himself involved in an extremely tricky case when a woman claims that she witnessed him committing murder and robbery. What initially appears to be an absurd allegation based on a misunderstanding soon develops into a serious suspicion. It’s not only that Beckmann has no alibi; on top of that, the evidence begins to pile up – to the extent that the incredible seems possible.
