The journalist Dieter Lindemann (Uwe Ochsenknecht) thinks he found the perfect way to cope with family life with his five year old twins and younger daughter Rosa. He wants to split child care in half and share it with his wife Esther (Valerie Niehaus). What he unfortunately doesn´t see is how Dieter and Ester start to live apart as a couple, they only see each other when exchanging the children.
He is devastated when his wife admits that she fell in love with her attractive Danish colleague Lars Knudsen (Claes Bang). Being hurt and angry he moves to a hotel. At the same time he is set under pressure by his boss Saskia (Marie-Lou Sellem) at the office.
Of course this isn´t enough and Dieter´s overeager intern Lisa (Cornelia Gröschel) slowly starts to get in a competition with him. Dieter gets deep into his work and also starts a precarious flirt.
While his wild struggle for survival he realizes that he still loves his wife Esther and starts an extraordinary fight to win back his family.
