Professor Lichtwitz is the owner of a booming architectural office. Privately, though, he is an established philanderer and it is for this reason that he had a penthouse built which is directly accessible from his office. Once, as he is supposed to be on a business trip, one of his architects, Bodo Walter, hoped to invite lovely Stella Dornfeld, the latter's dentist's assistant, to a harmless dinner. Well, Bodo is quite sure that his boss is on a business trip and that is also what every employee in the office thinks and so does the wife of Professor Lichtwitz who does not realize that she has fallen prey to one of her hubby's little lies once again. So, the inevitable happens. The penthouse, which everybody expected to be quiet and empty, becomes the arena of hectic human traffic.
