Fashion designer Alexandra Meyberg, an attractive older also married woman, falls in love with up-and-coming young pianist Stefan Weber and helps him with his career. Meanwhile her company descends into chaos. Everybody around her responds with incomprehension and rejection. Her husband Helmut is the only one who refrains from condemning her. In the end, because some things are simply impossible, Alexandra puts an end to the affair. And before long Stefan loses his life in a car accident.
