Katrin cannot believe her luck: she has won a ski vacation at the "Edelweiss" luxury hotel in the Alps. She decides to take her Aunt Ruth and leave her chronic money troubles behind to dive deep into the world of the rich and the beautiful. It does not take long before a group of pick-up artists of the slope Jan, Gerhardt, Oliver and Matthias invite them for a glass of champagne. Ruth sees right through these "five-star-gigolos", who only care about themselves and the size of their bank accounts. However, Katrin is wooed by all the attention she is getting - until the friendly, love-smitten bartender Julian lets her know their real intentions: she is the pawn in a bet waged yearly by the smooth talking quartet. At first, Katrin suspects Julian is driven by jealousy but when she finds out he acts out of real concern for her she turns the tables on the "five-star-gigolos".
