Dr. Johanna Lohmann still feels unable to embark upon a new relationship with the attractive Daniel Winterberg, but the two of them do spend a lot of time together. When they go walking in the mountains they get caught up in a landslide, and Daniel injures his shoulder. The landslide was caused by a nearby explosion - which nobody can explain. While Johanna is caring for her patient, Ines Meissner, who visiting Daniel, suddenly turns up. Ines, a former colleague of Daniel’s, is jealous when she observes the intimacy between him and the doctor. As a passionate photographer, she is fascinated by the imposing Alpine landscape - to the extent that she ventures too far out on an outcrop of rock and falls. The mountain rescue services are soon on the spot and find the unconscious Ines, but by now Johanna has discovered that Ines might have something to do with the illegal explosions. Meanwhile, a family drama begins to unfold at the Bergmeier Farm.
