Finally Dr. Johanna Lohmann has decided to take the leap and moves in with her boyfriend Daniel Winterberg. The children are excited about the move, but for Johanna it means she now has a very long daily commute from the equestrian stables to her practice in the village center. In addition, one of her fellow doctors has recently retired which means that she now has to take care of his patients in the larger area as well. A hobby hang glider is in luck when he has an accident and Dr. Lehman is close to come to his rescue immediately. He only seems to have suffered a sprained ankle. The likable man in his mid-thirties turns out to be a journalist and he spontaneously offers to do a report on the shortage of doctors that especially affects the countryside. Maybe a few young doctors will watch the report and feel enticed to start a practice in the country. Daniel is not happy about the handsome journalist following his girl-friend Johanna around so closely. At the Bergmeierhof the love bug has spread wildly. While Verena is slowly getting closer to the seasonal worker Dominik Engel, Johanna’s father has also decided to re-start his love life. Dominik introduces him to internet-dating and they start an adventure called “Farmer Wants a Wife”. None of that is a joke to Johanna especially after one early morning when she catches an unknown women sneaking out of her father’s bedroom. Meanwhile Daniel’s jealousy towards Alexander the journalist increases. However, Daniel does not know that Johanna harbors a heavy secret: Alexander suffers from a terminal-illness and came back to the country and his home to die in peace.  Only a bone marrow transplant could possibly save his life. Will Johanna be able to help him to find a new lease on life?
