A severe storm has caused considerable damage to Wallner Farm, which only serves to place a further burden on the already difficult financial position of the Wallners. While cleaning up after the storm Anna finds a spring near in the forests -- on her land. She starts making plans to bottle the spring water to make some money, but Johannes is not at all enthusiastic about the idea. However, Anna is convinced that she is onto something. News of the find quickly spreads throughout Hohenfels. The prospect of financial gain arouses feelings of envy: Mayor Stadlhuber and building contractor Penzinger decide to build a mineral water factory, and behind Anna’s back the two men attempt to get Johannes on their side by suggesting that he would be in charge of planning the major project. And suddenly Anna’s brother-in-law Markus claims that the spring is on his property in any case.
