Alzheimer (2001)

A documentary about "Alzheimer" by Claudia Bissinger and Michael Jürgs

Still today, one doesn't know much more about the Alzheimer disease as the neurologist Alois Alzheimer did last century. The documentary shows how internationally renowned scientists work on research and finding methods of healing. A patient and his wife permit insight into their life with the situation. Case studies of famous Alzheimer's patients as Herbert Wehner or Rita Hayworth complete the picture of the disease. Finally, the example of a home for Alzheimer's patients in Emmen, Netherlands, demonstrates that using simple methods can make a pleasant and respectful retirement.
