In this Doris Dörrie feature Heiner Lauterbach and Uwe Ochsenknecht play the Odd Couple. Felix has been thrown out of the house by his wife and moves in with his poker friend Oscar. However, it soon becomes apparent to Oscar, a rabid sports fan whose own wife has left him, why the tidy Felix has been thrown out in the first place. It all goes back to that Friday afternoon at a poker party that included old friends: tax-man Speck, big-guy Marde, and holiday-champ Vinnie. When Felix didn’t show up, and it was discovered why, it was Oscar who had offered the torn-asunder loser a home away from home. Not knowing that a “war of the roses” was about to begin …
