Inventory is the blueprint for an intimate psychological film set in Poland and partially in West Germany in the present day. The main characters are two women, Julia and Zofia, and Zofia’s grown-up son Tomek. During the course of the film a three-cornered relationship develops between the mother, her son and the son’s mistress. The narrative is driven by confrontation between principles and illusions - psychological lies and moralist rhetoric - all set against the search for the constantly subjective truths which each of the characters has to discover in the end.
