Housewife Theresa Bayer (Sissy Höfferer) has won a prize: a holiday in a luxurious and extremely high-class hotel complete with beauty centre and adjoining golf course.
Here she meets some truly eccentric people: Verena Hagen-Wertheim is in a state of constant separation from her husband; the Kohlers (Louise Martini and Dieter Laser) spend their days arguing about the rules of golf and life; there is a mysterious pianist who plays in the bar, while the manageress of the hotel (Bigi Fischer) seems to be permanently staggering through life. And she also meets a lawyer, Marie-Muise Wendt (Hannelore Elsner), who has been persuaded by her friends to spend a holiday here.
And now the two women, though they are from such different backgrounds, become friends and establish that they want nothing to do with the other guests in the hotel; instead, they take advantage of these surroundings to experience an extremely amusing but also very instructive lesson in love.
