Christin (Christine Neubauer) is a radio presenter, star of the popular programme "Lose those Pounds!" on Antenne Berlin. Every evening she devotes herself to the problems of carelessness, most of them women, dispensing advice about the daily battle against putting on weight. The fans of the programme have no idea that Christin’s real name is Carla - and she is more than a little chubby herself. Because ever since her boyfriend abandoned her two years ago for a playmate, she would far rather eat chocolate than kiss men.

Naturally the Board of Directors at Slim Line also have no idea about Christin's double life; the company is determined to launch a new advertising campaign for its slimming products, featuring the face of the famous radio presenter who is said to have ideal proportions. Quite understandably, Christin alias Carla has no intention of exposing her double life in this way and that does down the offer. Which gives Tallman, the good-looking junior manager of Slim Line, a cunning idea: he will pretend to be a fan of Christin's broadcast and an admirer of her sexy voice in order to arrange a meeting with the beautiful mystery woman. And he manages over the phone to convince Christin, or rather Carla, that they should meet; naturally she has no idea of his true intentions. She now resolves that she will not appear in front of her dream man in this chubby guise; she has to lose weight! In the execution of her radical programme to shed the pounds she is helped by her friend Brit - a diet expert by trade who genuinely does have a model's figure -- and tough fitness trainer Giovanni from Sizilien.

Sure enough she starts losing weight at a rapid rate, and everything seems to be going to according to plan. But then, on one of her long runs, she meets a nice gardener called Konrad, who takes care of the property owned by the junior partner at Slim Line. And when she discovers at a large garden party that the junior partner is none other than Tom, Carla feels her whole world has collapsed around her. However, revenge is sweet, and she who laughs last laughs longest...
