My daughter, my life
2004

Ruth (Thekla Carola Wied), an attractive woman in her early fifties, has
enjoyed a close relationship with her daughter Lea (Chiara Schoras) ever since the
separation from husband and father. Now in her mid twenties, Lea begins
gradually to distance herself from her mother in favor of a relationship with the
ambitious Björn (Matthias Koeberlin). She also gives up her studies to devote
herself entirely to painting, a wish Ruth had also cherished in her youth. But
when Lea is hospitalized with multiple sclerosis, apparently caused by unsafe
working conditions at a printing company, the mother-daughter relationship is
renewed and intensified. Then, as the illness escalates into a court case,
Ruth is confronted by an old flame: the company’s lawyer, Robert Amelungen
(Michael Mendl). Ruth fights for justice – and her daughter’s life.
