Cat and Dog

2002

The energetic Dorothee Auer (Nicole Heesters) starts her job as new mayor of a picturesque town on Lake Constance. Her desire to breathe fresh wind into the community, however, invokes the displeasure of the local cleargy because the Catholic priest Tobias Hund (Martin Luettge) has entirely different ideas than her as to what is good for his community. Each follows a different path to achieve the best for their small town. And each is not above putting stones in the other’s way – until finally the matter explodes in their faces. The priest’s brother, Tillmann Hund (Christian Kohlund), attempts to reconcile the pair and in the process takes a personal interest in the resolute lady mayor. After Dorothee and Tobias finally realise that they can only win when they join forces, they promote a folk music festival in their idyllic town – and Tillmann also succeeds in winning the heart of the mayor.
In further roles: Lisa Kreuzer („Das suendige Maedchen“, „Die Kinderklinik“, „Der amerikanische Freund“), Sepp Schauer( „BR- Tatort: Und dahinter liegt New York“, „Die Manns - Ein Jahrhundertroman“), Doris Kunstmann („ Edel& Stark“, „Männer sind zum Abgewöhnen“) as the priest’s housekeeper Margarete Weiss, and Austrian musician Sabine Kapfinger (Hubert v. Goisern and the Cates of the Alps) as conductor and singer of the exclusively composed title song for “Dog and Cat”.
