I´ll Borrow a Family
2005
A charming monster invents a family for himself: “I’ll Borrow a Family” (WT) with Hans-Werner Meyer, Lisa Martinek and Sandra Speichert

Ben (Hans-Werner Meyer) is a charming monster. This is also the conclusion reached by Hanna (Lisa Martinek), who loved him when they were youngsters and now meets the arrogant and successful advertising executive many years later. Hanna, who has just been divorced, is blessed with two fine sons: Paul (Leonard Carow) and Jonas (Lukas Schust). And of course Ben has no time for children! Much to the disappointment of his girlfriend Juliane (Sandra Speichert), an attractive doctor. In their lives up to now they have both let their careers come first – and Ben at least has no intention of changing this. He gets quite enough of family life on brief visits to his grandmother Emma. However, when the advertising agency where Ben works is attempting to secure the €20 million contract for a baby product campaign, Ben is called upon to demonstrate that he is a family man. In order to clinch the deal Ben invents a wife and two lovely sons. But before long the executive from the baby product company (Michael Greiling) announces that he wants to meet Ben’s family. Ben is in a quandary: where can he suddenly find a wife and children? Hanna is the answer! He turns on the charm and does his best to persuade her that they could be his family for a while. Hanna has her pride, however, as well as being a stubborn woman. On the other hand, she really needs the money, and he is offering to pay a lot. Apart from which, she thinks it will be hilarious to watch Ben trying to appear plausible in the role of her husband in order to secure the deal. She doesn't realise it until it is too late that she should have listened to her brother Carsten (Stefan Jürgens), who warned her about this particular heartbreaker...
