A woman has the ambition to get to the top. But today - unfortunately – this is still a difficult task, a goal which is not accepted by everybody. Especially when the career in question is in politics, and a man is to be replaced by a woman. Because even if somebody - in this case the gallery-owner Nina Gössel - is appointed Senator for Culture in local government because of her professional skills, she will still need help - especially from men. Nina's career is soon hanging by a thread.
The film could be set in any of the big German cities. The conditions are universal. Disapproval, jealously and intrigue are not only found in the cultural scene. How can a woman put up with it? What gives her the power to carry on fighting these battles? In the case of Gössel it is her capacity for love and her unrivalled intellect. A mixture which is thrilling and the lovable at the same time.
