An Odd Couple
1986

She is in her 50s, a fashion designer in Berlin, a by - word in her profession. He is in his early 30s, good-looking without an income of his own, financially and socially dependent on her: an odd combination.
A complex ritual of infidelity and deceit governs the day-to-day conduct of this affair; both perpetually trying to contain those impending outbursts of emotion. But when he finally breaks the rules, he unwittingly gives the impuls to an agonizing process of reckoning.
The major roles in this neurotic struggle for emotional fulfillment are in the competent hands of Judy Winter and Diego Wallraff: she as the woman haunted by her own, endless fears and he as the man oscillating between the pangs of inferiority complex and the self-imposed demands of his delusions of grandeur. Others in the cast are, among others, Karl Michael Vogler, Maja Maranow and Rainer Hunold. The film is penned by Cologne scriptwriter Dieter Wellershoff.
"Odds to Even", a production of the Regina Ziegler Film Production Company in Berlin has been commissioned by the WDR, the West German Television, and is the debut TV- film venture of Director Peter Keglevic for the WDR. However, two full-length feature films by the director, "Bella Donna" and "Magic Sticks", which have enjoyed screening in West German moviehouses just recently, were already co- productions with this station.
