ZEIGLER FILM GmbH & Co. KG is producing this 2-part telefeature for broadcasters WDR Cologne and NDR Hamburg. Heiner Lauterbach, screen and television star, plays Axel Springer, the publisher. At his side are well known actors Anica Dobra, Lisa Martinek, Susanne Simon, Sylvester Groth and Jürgen Hentsch. The script, written by Bernd Böhlich after a treatment by Paul Hengge, is based on the biography "The Axel Springer Case" by Michael Jürgs. Bernd Böhlich directs the production, following the success of his 5 part RIDING THE STORM, also a highly successful Ziegler Film mini-series production for ZDF Mainz.
