Child Murder
1996

The inhabitants of a Berlin suburb are horrified when the two young daughters of Heinz and Katrin Menzel are found dead in a nearby forest. A number of people assume straight away that Katrin is the culprit, while others are of the opinion that the father killed his own daughters. When the case comes to court all the elements of a family drama are exposed: a marriage which has collapsed, difficulties in bed, and Heinz’s inability to prevent Katrin from hanging around in the local discotheques - which is where she meets the British soldier Phil. Katrin resolves to leave Heinz and return to England with Phil. Heinz only learns of Phil’s existence from his own daughter, and it throws him completely off balance. Now Phil decides that he and Katrin have to break the news to Heinz together. With the greatest reluctance, Katrin brings Phil home with her. And then what happens?
