Elisabeth (Ruth Maria Kubitschek), an attractive art dealer, has decided to take the plunge again and get remarried. But the man and she has been a together with the several years now collapses in a registry office, dead. Elisabeth has to bury the dream of a future together along with her husband, a dream for the sake of which she has already sold her business and her apartment. Miserable and deeply distraught, she moves in with her daughter Isabel (Tina Ruland) and Isabel's husband Adrian (Oliver Bootz). But soon the three of them realise that they are getting married others nerves. On the spur of the moment Elisabeth packs her suitcase and sets off, travelling without any firm destination or return ticket. Her journey takes her to the island of Santorini. With the assistance of a woman who runs a boarding house, Daphne (Daniela Ziegler), she finds work in a jewellery shop. Here the lover of art blossoms again, because she knows a thing or two about jewellery. The owner of the shop, Konstantin (Siegfried Rauch), is deeply impressed -- and not only by her expert knowledge. Elisabeth is flattered, but initially she rejected his advances. However, Konstantin refuses to be discouraged and gradually wins her heart. But his son Meander (Cuco Wallraff) and Meander’s wife Katharina (Katja Woywood) are deeply opposed to this relationship. Enraged at Emmaus, they do everything they can to drive away the new woman in Konstantin’s life. And finally they succeed: Elisabeth vanishes without indicating where she is going. Konstantin is furious and set off to search for her, vowing that he will return -- with Elisabeth at his side!
