It happened in November of 1999: High-level representatives of the German stand-up comedians assembled in Berlin for a good cause:

"Laughter Is Fun - Comedy for UNICEF”.

Moderator Thomas Ohrner presented a phalanx of top German comedians.

"Laughter Lightens the Spirit - Comedy for UNICEF” is a gala for adults and children. Primarily to see the world through the eyes of children. The world viewed with their candor, sincerity, and disarming laughter. This leitmotif was visible throughout the entire gala. Its aim: to solicit abundant donations for UNICEF, as well as to coax laughter from as many people as possible. And this goal was clearly reached!
