
Petr Zelenka - Director
Born 1967. He studied script-writing at the Prague Film School, FAMU 1986-1991.
Between June 1990 and March 1991 he worked as a script editor at the Barrandov Film Studios and for BBC-London on the 50 min. programme "Czech-Mate".
1990 - 1996 four of his original television screenplays were produced by Czech Television.
His feature director's debut "MNÁGA-HAPPY END" (1996) won an award at the Cottbus Film Festival, Germany 1996 and The Golden Kingfisher of Pilsen Film Festival and was shown in cinemas in Germany and Holland.
"BUTTONERS" (1997), his second feature, has became a major Czech cult film of the decade, winning many local and

"Buttoners" were also released in England (I.C.A.), France (Action Gitanes) and Holland (Filmmuseum).
"LONERS" © 2000, a film for which PZ wrote the script, directed by friend David Ondr<caron>íc<caron>ek. The film was released in April 2000 in Czech Republic and is leading the film charts till now.

2002 YEAR OF THE DEVIL - winner of the Crystal Globe, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2002 The film also won the Main Prize at the Alpe Adria Cinema – Trieste Film Festival and the Main Prize – Golden Taiga at the event Spirit of Fire – International Debut Film Festival. The film also proved to be a winner among Czech audiences and was presented with six Czech Lion awards, including Best Film and the Audience Prize in 2003.
